Obama Playing Dress Up?

It seems Obama and his pals have become particularly aware of his inability to cross what Hillary termed “the Commander in Chief threshold,” in the minds of voters.

So what are they going to do about it? Well, of course, Senator Obama has no intentions of actually talking to the voters about issues (perhaps in a town hall format) or actually discussing and sharing his knowledge of national security, foreign policy, and military issues as to assuage the uneasiness of voters. Nope, he’s just going to play a little game of make believe. Or as the Axelrod learned during his time in the private sector…branding.

Politically Drunk reports [emphasis theirs]:

During an interview on Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace asked Senator Daschle, “What happens if he goes there and if General Petraeus, the author of the surge, and Iraqi politicians say to him, ‘Look, we have made gains,’ the gains The New York Times talked about, ‘and if we follow your path and pull our troops out, we’re going to lose everything we fought so hard to gain?’”

Daschle’s response was to the question was clear, “Well, I doubt very much that General Petraeus would say that, Chris. And obviously, he will factor in whatever information he’s provided. That’s the whole idea behind the trip.

But he is the commander in chief and he has made very clear that we’ve already spent more time in Iraq than we did in World War II. We’ve already spent more than $1 trillion. We’ve already lost thousands of lives and more thousands wounded.”

That’s right folks, Barack Obama is now the Commander in Chief. At least now we know what the “seal” was for.

I guess Obama and his buddies think if people see him behind what looks like the presidential seal, and people refer to him as “commander in chief” they’ll just get used to the idea. Soon, they’ll just start doing photo shoots in the Oval Office and calling him President Obama, and we can call off this whole pesky election business.
