Timothy “Doogie Howser” Geithner: Worst Treasury Secretary Ever Wonders Rob Reich?

Is Timothy “Doogie Howser” Geithner the worst treasury secretary ever?

Maybe not, but Obama supporter Robert Reich thinks he’s well on his way:

Reich accused Tim Geithner of “spooking everyone” with his “dithering” and his “incapacity to speak clearly” about what to do to rescue the nation from recession. It was all part of a post in which the Cal-Berkeley professor outlined what he would say to Mr. Obama if he were Paul Volcker, a leading economics adviser who briefed the President in the White House today. “You may not want to hear this, but your Treasury Secretary is making things worse. His dithering on what to do about Wall Street, and his incapacity to speak clearly to the Street and to the public about what needs to be done, is spooking everyone… [italics mine]”

Geithner, like the President, if way in over his head. Millions saw this coming. And that’s precisely why you should have endorsed Hillary, Mr. Reich:

Although Hillary Clinton has offered solid and sensible policy proposals, Obama’s strike me as even more so.

Well, that’s rich. Care to revise that opinion, Robert?

  1. I read today in the NYT about Volcker being marginalized in the Obama WH in respect to his advise on how to obviate another financial crisis. I wrote a post on it arguing that the nation’s financial houses are apparently able to squeeze out even a credible voice that is no longer in their financial interest. I am much less surprised to find this going on, than that Barak Obama and those he has selected as his advisers are represented here as being on the side of the financial culprits. A case of cooptation, I believe. I’m assuming that Barak wants a second term pretty bad and is willing to… (you know)
